Trudeau takes fight to rival

Justin Trudeau, the Liberal MP from Quebec, defeated his Conservative opponent during a charity boxing match in Ottawa last night.

The upset TKO victory came in the third and final round after the referee stopped the fight. Sen. Patrick Brazeau was the favourite to win the match, as he has a background in martial arts and formerly served as a reservist in the Canadian Forces.

The charity event was staged by Final Round Boxing in Ottawa, and raised money for the Ottawa Regional Cancer foundation. By the end of the night, more than $230, 000 had been raised – the initial goal was $200, 000.

As per a prior agreement, Brazeau will now have to cut his long hair outside of the House of Commons, and will wear a Liberal jersey for the next week.

Brazeau came out swinging in the first round of the match, and it seemed Trudeau was in trouble. But in the second Trudeau’s stamina showed as his opponent was left nearly breathless after his initial assault.

In the final round Trudeau continued his attack. With blood coming from Brazeau’s nose Trudeau pushed his heavier opponent into the corner and wailed with wild punches before the referee finally called the fight.
