LDAP celebration

Flood damage and delayed surgeries dominated the agendas this week for most staff members at Hamilton’s St. Joseph’s Healthcare.
But they did take some time Friday afternoon to host an important gathering. A celebration for patients of the hospital’s Lung Cancer Diagnostic Assessment Program. It’s the third year they’ve staged the event and it’s purpose is significant; to provide comfort and inspiration to those facing a difficult cancer battle.
This year’s celebration included a new element. A book launch. It’s a compilation of personal stories, written by patients or their families, detailing their cancer experience. Healthcare providers who are part of the LDAP team have also contributed, to what is expected to be an ongoing project.
More than 18 hundred people were treated through St. Joe’s Lung Diagnostic Assessment Program last year.
