Jack Layton returns to Ottawa one last time.
A hearse carrying the NDP leader’s coffin left Toronto early this morning.
Layton’s closed casket will lie in state in the foyer of the Commons from 12:30pm to 8pm and tomorrow from 9am to 1:30pm.
He will receive a 15-gun salute as he leaves Parliament Hill.
Layton will rest in repose at Toronto City Hall all day Friday and from 9am to 11am Saturday before a state funeral at Roy Thomson Hall at 2pm.
