(Update)

Hospitals across Hamilton are re-arranging surgery schedules after St. Joseph’s and Juravinski Cancer Centre were forced to partially close Wednesday due to floods that may be weather-related.

A water pipe burst at St. Joseph’s Healthcare caused serious flooding leading to the cancellation of elective surgeries and appointments at the Charlton Campus and the closure of the emergency room. The water leak was stopped early in the day.

And the Juravinski Cancer Centre was also shut down Wednesday because of flooding. All cancer-related appointments were cancelled and patients were asked to contact their oncologist with any concerns. The rest of the hospital was not affected.
