Brantford man faces aggravated assault and weapons charges after stabbing

Brantford police say a man is facing multiple charges after a serious assault and stabbing sent a 35-year-old man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say around 3:15 a.m. on Dec. 27, officers responded to a 911 call indicating two men were involved in a physical interaction outside a Darling Street residence. One of the men was reported to have been stabbed.
The man was transported to a nearby trauma center with life threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.
Police say the other man was located and taken in custody around 6:00 a.m. and say information they received indicated the accused is in violation of a valid probation order.
Brantford police say 26-year-old Daniel Cote of Brantford is charged with aggravated assault, dangerous weapons and breach of probation order.
Police say the accused and the victim were known to each other.
