Canada reaches 2 million COVID-19 cases since start of pandemic

Canada has surpassed two million cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
The government of Canada’s health website’s number of cases was delayed over the weekend. Some provinces and territories did not input data over the holidays. Monday saw Ontario reporting more than 9,400 cases.
The Omicron variant has seen numbers rise dramatically across the country, prompting some provinces to tighten restrictions.
On Monday, there were 159,431 active cases of COVID-19 cases, with 1,836,475 recovered and 30,172 deaths.
