Jury selection begins in trial of man accused of killing Holly Hamilton

Jury selection has begun for the trial of Justin Dumpfrey, a Hamilton man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Holly Hamilton nearly four years ago.
Dumpfrey has pleaded not guilty to the second-degree murder of Hamilton.
The young mother was reported missing in January of 2018. At the time, police issued a plea to the public for help in locating the 29-year-old, saying it was extremely out-of-character for Hamilton not to report to work or bring her child to school.
Hamilton was last seen in the area of Barton St. and Fairfield Ave near Dumpfrey’s apartment.
Her body was located days later in the trunk of her car that was parked in an underground parking lot near Barton St. and Lake Ave.
Dumpfrey, who is the father of their young child, appeared in court Monday dressed in a dark coloured suit.
Jury selection is set to continue on Tuesday.
Several witnesses are expected to take the stand at John Sopinka Court House when the trial begins.
It is expected to last three weeks.
