Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice releases new video to mark Children’s Grief Awareness Day

Today marks Children’s Grief Awareness Day, which is a day to focus on normalizing the idea that grief and bereavement are a natural part of life and to help build better ways to support grievers.

To honour the day, Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton released a video called Voices of Grief. It features eight children and teens from the Hamilton area each processing a death in their own way.

The hospice hopes the video will help show the benefits of getting support.

“We encourage grievers to reach out to helpful supports such as peer support groups, counselling and online grief support,” said Clare Freeman, CEO of Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, in a statement.

Over the past 30 years, Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice has been serving the Hamilton community by providing palliative care, bereavement supports and counselling.
