Staff at the Niagara Military Museum say they were “sad to discover” a flag outside the building was stolen just days before Remembrance Day.

On Thursday, the museum posted on its Facebook page that the White Ensign which had been erected and flown at half mast to honour veterans was taken sometime during the last few days.

The building is located at 5049 Victoria Ave between Armoury and Jepson Streets in Niagara Falls and houses a collection and display of artifacts relating to the military heritage of Niagara.

The museum says this is the first “flag problem” that has happened since its opening in 2012.

The flag belongs to the Royal Canadian Naval Association Veterans.
