Special weather statement forecasts 50 mm of rain for Hamilton

A special weather statement has been issued for Hamilton and the surrounding area.

Up to 50 millimetres of rain is forecast to fall throughout Monday.

According to Environment Canada, the rain may be heavy at times with an additional 15 to 30 millimetres are expected. It says local flooding is possible.

Environment Canada is reminding residents to clear leaves and debris from storm drains to minimize flooding.
