Hamilton police warn public after two women targeted by man

Hamilton police are warning the public after two women were targeted by a man driving a black SUV-style vehicle.
Officers responded to reports of a suspicious person near Lawrence Rd. and Mount Albion Rd. late Wednesday.
Police arrived on scene and learned a woman had been picked up by a man in a dark-coloured jeep.
“The woman became fearful after seeing the male holding a knife in his lap,” said police in a news release “The woman got out of the car after the male ordered her to exit when he approached a Hamilton Police RIDE lane.”
A few hours later, around 2 a.m., police were called to reports of a woman in distress near Dunsmure Rd.
The woman told police she had been picked up by an unknown man and, while parked near Strathcona Ave., the man became aggressive. The woman said he pulled out a pipe and threatened to beat her with it.
The victim got out of the vehicle and ran through the parking lot screaming for help.
Investigators believe the same man is responsible for both incidents.
Police are looking for a white man who is described as being six feet, 190 lbs, with blue eyes, long hair on top and buzzed hair on the sides, and tattoos on both of his arms and hands.
Police believe the suspect was driving a black SUV or Jeep.
