Hamilton police investigate shooting after residents hear ‘series of loud bangs’

Hamilton police are investigating a late-night shooting in the city’s east end.

It happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of Adair Ave. and Central Ave.

Police say residents reported hearing a “series of loud bangs” in the area.

Members from the Hamilton Police Service Forensic Services Branch were brought in to investigate the incident.

Officers could be seen laying out dozens of evidence markers on the roadway late Tuesday.

Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting.
