Ontario is reporting 306 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday and 12 deaths related to the virus.

The data is based on 23,219 tests completed on the previous day.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 202 of today’s reported cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 104 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

The province says a total of more than 22.1 million vaccine doses have been administered.

Elliott says nearly 87 per cent of Ontarians aged 12 and older have received one dose and 82.5 per cent have two doses.

There are 153 people in intensive care units due to COVID-19. Of those in hospital, 14 are fully vaccinated, six are partially vaccinated, 68 are unvaccinated, and the remaining 65 have an unknown vaccination status.

Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, at least nine are in an outbreak including R. H. Lawson Eventide Home in Niagara Falls and Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie.

An active COVID-19 outbreak indicates that the home has at least one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 (in resident or staff) and the local public health unit or the home has declared an outbreak.
