Three-year-old girl subject of Amber Alert found safe

A three-year-old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert overnight has been found safe.

The alert was issued by Ontario Provincial Police around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said the little girl had been last seen in Barrie shortly before 2:15 p.m. on Monday with a 27-year-old suspect.

Around 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, police tweeted the child had been found “safe and sound” and the alert was canceled.

Barrie police say arrangements are being made to bring the girl back to Barrie.

They say further details will be released later this Tuesday morning.
