Police seek witnesses in fatal crash in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara police are looking to speak with witnesses after a two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a teenager in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Concession 7 Rd. and Line 6 Rd. around 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say a 19-year-old man was driving a silver Subaru Impreza southbound on Concession 7 Rd. with a 19-year-old woman in the passenger seat.

The man attempted to make an eastbound turn onto Line 6 Rd. when his vehicle collided with a black Audi R8 traveling northbound.

The driver of the Subaru was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a 39-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman who were in the Audi were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing by detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit.

The office of the Coroner is also involved with the investigation.
