Oakville cyclist seriously injured after hit-and-run

Halton Police have charged the driver involved in an Oakville hit-and-run resulting in serious injuries last night.

Halton Police responded to the incident around 9 p.m. on Strathcona Ave. and Lakeshore Rd.

Police say a cyclist was hit by a Jeep that fled the scene.

The 42-year-old man was transported to Hamilton General for head trauma.

60-year-old Mary Stefanac of Burlington has been charged with impaired driving offences, including having a blood concentration of 80 mg/100ml and above.

She has also has charged with failure to stop after an accident causing bodily harm.
