Several weapons, ammunition, and $250,000 worth of drugs have been seized by police in a multi-jurisdictional investigation.

Hamilton police say six people are facing 48 charges in what police have dubbed Project Purple Rain.

Hamilton police officers executed four search warrants over the weekend with the assistance of Niagara Regional Police Service and Peel Regional Police Service.

Investigators say a gun was discovered at every location along with scales and ammunition.

Police seized a large quantity of fentanyl worth approximately $220,000, roughly $16,000 in cocaine, and 16 grams of methamphetamine valued at $1,600.

Officers also located over $20,000 in cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.

“This is not the end. Hamilton Police will continue to engage with our community, police partners and share information in order to provide community safety,” said police in a news release. “The citizens of Hamilton need to continue to feel safe in their communities and as a community we need to stop gun violence.”
