Halton police say an 18-month-old girl who was pulled from a backyard swimming pool in Burlington has died.

The child was taken to hospital in critical condition on July 25 after emergency crews were called to a home on Kevin Cres. for reports that a child had drowned.

Halton police said the girl’s mother was home at the time of the incident but they do not know how long the child was in the pool.

Police say the investigation has now been taken over by the Officer of the Coroner.
