Milton GO Station reopens after abandoned package investigation

Milton GO Station has reopened after an abandoned package prompted a shutdown Tuesday evening.
Police received a call about a suspicious package at the GO Station around 5:45 p.m.
Officers arrived on scene and cleared members of the public from the immediate area of the package. All access to the GO Station was halted, including train, vehicle, and pedestrian traffic.
The Halton Regional Police Service’s Tactical Rescue Unit, K9 Unit, and Explosives Disposal Unit were called in to investigate the abandoned package.
Shortly before 10 p.m., the scene was deemed “clear and secure” and the station was reopened to trains, vehicles, and pedestrians.
