Hamilton police make arrest in murder at local motel

**UPDATE**
Hamilton police have arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with the city’s latest homicide.
On Tuesday, police issued an arrest warrant for Myles Blackburn, of Hamilton, for first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of 40-year-old Christopher La Rose.
La Rose was found suffering from stab wounds on the sidewalk near the Red Rose motel on Queenston Rd. Sunday morning.
Police say the Brampton man got into a physical altercation with someone inside a unit at the motel and was stabbed. He tried to flee the area but collapsed a short distance away.
La Rose was taken to hospital where he later died.

On Wednesday, police announced Blackburn had been arrested in the area of Ferguson Ave. South and Young St.
Hamilton police say numerous officers from various investigative units participated in locating and arresting Blackburn.
The 40-year-old appeared in court Wednesday morning where he was charged with first-degree murder as well as several weapons-related charges.
Police say Blackburn was in possession of a loaded handgun at the time of his arrest.
