Ontario reports 146 new COVID-19 cases, 7 more deaths

Ontario is reporting 146 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday after nearly 17,500 tests were completed.
Health officials say seven more people have died from COVID-related illnesses.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 43 new cases in Toronto, 36 in the Region of Waterloo, 13 in Peel Region, and 10 in Middlesex-London.
There are currently 192 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness and 123 on ventilators.
Of the province’s 626 long-term care homes, five are in an outbreak.
Elliott says 176,834 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered Monday for a total of more than 17.2 million. She says over seven million Ontarians are now fully vaccinated.
