Hamilton public health is reporting three active outbreaks of COVID-19, including one at a long-term care home in the city.

Officials say there are currently four staff members at St. Joseph’s Villa on Governors Rd. in Dundas with confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The employees all work within a hair salon at the building.

According to the facility’s website, enhanced restrictions have been been in place at the residence’s hair salon, North Tower, and 5th floor.

Health officials are also reporting outbreaks at a local grocery store and a family-run business.

Duarte’s Supermarket on Barton St. E currently has three confirmed cases and Kirin Air Systems on Rennie St. has two cases.

Public health says the outbreaks at both businesses involve staff members.

A COVID-19 outbreak may be declared by Hamilton Public Health Services when two or more confirmed cases can be linked to the workplace within a 14-day period and it is likely that the infection was spread in the workplace.
