Special weather statement in effect for Southern Ontario

A special weather statement has been issued for Southern Ontario with heavy rain expected to hit the region Thursday.
Environment Canada says residents can expect heavy rainfall of 30 to 50 mm.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to make way across the area and rainfall warnings may be issued for certain areas.
Special Weather Statements are the least urgent type of alert and are issued to let people know that conditions are unusual and could cause concern.
