While reading his decision, Justice Harrison Arrell said the Crown’s ten civilian witnesses often had “inconsistent” evidence however “the general consensus was that none of the first responders, including the accused, were taking the situation seriously or with any urgency.”
A sentencing hearing is likely to happen in September.
Al-Hasnawi, 19, died in hospital after being shot in central Hamilton on Dec. 2, 2017.
He had been trying to help an older man who was being accosted outside a convenience store.
There was a 38-minute delay between the ambulance’s arrival on scene and when the teen was brought to hospital.
Both Snively and Marchant were fired from their jobs by the City of Hamilton in 2018.
