Deaths lead to baby monitor recall

There’s a voluntary recall for a baby monitor made in Canada after the deaths of two children in the U.S.

Quebec-based Angelcare is recalling about 800,000 baby monitors because of a strangulation risk. A cord attached to the baby monitor’s sensor could cause strangulation if the child pulls the cord into the crib and it becomes wrapped around the neck.

Health Canada said it has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of the monitors in canada.

Consumers can visit the company’s recall page to recieve a free repair kit.
