Security chiefs report cyberattacks on business up since remote work enabled

A new report finds nearly two-thirds of businesses globally have seen targeted cyberattacks rise since they switched to widespread remote work and work from home scenarios.
U.S. based software security company Proofpoint surveyed 1,400 chief information security officers at mid- and large-sized businesses in 14 countries, including Canada.
Sixty-three per cent of the Canadian respondents reported a rise in cyberattacks and 51 per cent said human error is the biggest vulnerability.
Email fraud was the biggest problem identified by the Canadian respondents, and one of the top three vulnerabilities in 12 of the countries studied.
