Niagara police investigating fatal collision

A 31-year-old St. Catharines man had died following a serious vehicle collision on St. Paul Avenue near Riall Street in Niagara Falls around 11:10 a.m. today.

The man was driving a Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a Hyundai Elantra. Niagara paramedics found him suffering from critical injuries. He was taken to hospital where Air ORNGE Helicopters flew him to an out-of-region trauma centre. Life saving measures were not successful and the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the Elantra has been identified as a 29-year-old woman from Niagara Falls. She didn’t suffer any physical injuries.

Detectives from the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit and NRPS Forensic Services Unit are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
