Halton Region expands COVID-19 vaccines to people who can’t work from home

Halton Region is once again expanding COVID-19 vaccine eligibility.
The first group of essential workers 18 and older who live or work in Halton and can’t work from home will now be able to book a vaccine.
The group includes:
- Elementary and secondary school workers: teachers, custodial staff, school bus drivers and administrative staff who are currently working in person.
- Workers responding to critical events: police, fire, special constables, children’s aid society workers
- Enforcement, inspection and compliance roles: bylaw enforcement, building inspectors, labour inspectors and animal welfare inspectors
- People working in childcare
People in this group will need to bring a completed COVID-19 Proof of Employment Attestation Form, signed by their employer, to appointments.
The region is also offering a vaccine to all healthcare workers who live or work in Halton and cannot work from home.
Residents 16 and older that fall into the province’s highest-risk health condition and high-risk health condition categories and their caregivers are also able to book.
There are six COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the region.
