Slight decrease in new Covid-19 cases in Ontario

Ontario is reporting 1,791 new COVID-19 cases today, and 18 new deaths related to the virus. 495 cases are in Toronto, 350 are in Peel Region, 177 are in York Region and 106 are in Durham Region. Just over 49-thousand tests were completed since Saturday’s report that topped 1800. As of Saturday night, more than a million and a half vaccinations have been administered. Ontario’s immunization campaign is being expanded Monday to include residents aged 75 and older. In addition, Premier Doug Ford now says certain pharmacies and family doctors in select regions will also be permitted to give the Oxford-AstraZeneca shot to residents aged 60 and older.
