Hamilton temporarily shuts down vaccination booking hotline

The City of Hamilton has temporarily shut down its COVID-19 vaccination booking phone line, meaning no other eligible residents can make an appointment until Mar. 15, when the provincial online booking system launches.

The city says people 85 and older who have already registered to be put on the list for a vaccination will be getting a call back from public health before next Monday to schedule an appointment.

Beginning Mar. 15 residents will be able to book an appointment online. Those who are unable to do it over the Internet will be able to call the vaccination hotline for assistance.

In a late afternoon news release, Hamilton says the shutdown is supposed to streamline the booking process before the province’s online booking system launches.
