Youth across Hamilton gathered this morning to discuss ways they can take action in informing their school and community of the importance of healthy living. The Unfiltered Facts youth summit is a one-day workshop for student leaders who are involved with their school’s health action team.
It was a chance for young people like Alex Fiorello to meet and build leadership and advocacy skills to promote a healthier school environment.
“After this, we expect to see new ideas come out and people going back to their communities, back to their schools and inspire other young people to take up the cause.”
Grants are also given to some schools to implement ideas for a healthier environment.
