Owen Sounds man facing drug trafficking charges in St. Catharines

A man faces several drug charges after a traffic stop by Niagara police in St. Catharines.

Police say detectives from the street crime unit were in the area of Merritt St. and Chestnut St. on Thursday. They spotted a “man who was known to them” driving around.

Uniform officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Welland Ave. and Bunting Rd.

The driver was arrested for failing to comply with previous release orders.

Officers seized suspected illegal drugs and dug trafficking paraphernalia.

David Cameron Firth, 51, of Owen Sound has been arrested and charged with various drug charges.
