Top dogs graduate from police academy

Five new members of local police forces were recognized today.

The four-legged graduates will be joining Niagara Regional Police, Hamilton Police, Amherst (N.Y.) Police and Genesee County (N.Y.) police. The service dogs completed a 13 week training course with their human handlers.

They’ll put their heightened sense of smell to work sniffing out crime scenes and searching for missing persons.
