Hamilton truck driver honoured

A Hamilton truck driver got quite an honour today.

Conway Freight held a ceremony for Clary Ward, a driver from their company’s Hamilton service centre after his winning performance in the single-single class at September’s Canadian National Truck Driving Championships. The competition gives drivers the opportunity to display their safety skills and knowledge as truck drivers.

The company gave Ward a personalized Ford truck and a personalized Conway Freight tractor to be exclusively driven by him for one year.

“It shows I have a very good employer. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today, and getting the reward that I get. Not too many companies would go as far as they did to present you with a new pick-up truck.”

Ward has been a truck driver for 32 years, joining Conway Freight in 2004.
