Ford ’embarrassed & ashamed’, but won’t quit

Toronto mayor Rob Ford says he can’t do anything else but apologize – and that apparently includes stepping down from office.
In a late-afternoon media appearance, Ford said he would be forever sorry for embarassing the city, and his family, with the drama over a video that allegedly showed him smoking crack. Since that story broke in May, he had constantly denied smoking crack, or being an addict.
That changed this afternoon.
At midday, Ford told a media scrum he had smoked crack cocaine while in a drunken stupor.
Ford vows he will stay on, and let the people of Toronto decide in the 2014 municipal election whether they want him to remain mayor.
