Rollover sends man to hospital

Hamilton police are trying to determine the cause of an early morning crash in Stoney Creek that sent the driver of a rolled-over vehicle to hospital.

A 28-year-old man was wearing his seat belt when his car rolled over onto its side and collided with a utility pole on Barton Street east of of Fruitland Road just before 4:00 this morning.

The vehicle hit a fence and snapped the hydro pole. The driver suffered facial and head injuries but is expected to recover.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the collision, but charges are pending.
