Fatal crash on 401

The westbound lanes of Highway 401 will remain closed for the next few hours between Highway 6 and Guelph Line due to a fatal crash, but the eastbound lanes are now open.

A tractor trailer burst into flames with another vehicle trapped underneath it around 4:00 this morning.

The OPP have not confirmed preliminary reports that two people were killed. It’s not clear if other vehicles were involved.
