Investigation into decomposed body wraps up

Hamilton Police and the coroner’s office have wrapped up their investigation into the death of Peter Wald, the 51-year-old man whose body was found badly decomposed in his family’s home last month.

Police haven’t revealed why the family didn’t report the death, and the coroner has suggested he may call an inquest.

Wald’s body was found by the employee of a repossession company on September 17. Neighbours said he went missing in January.

It’s now up to the Crown to decide whether charges should be laid against the family.
