Burlington beach home vote

Now to a battle over homes and property. For years, residents of Burlington’s beach community have been at odds with city hall because of the city’s plan to buy their homes and turn the land into a park. Wednesday, that fight went Halton Regional Council in an effort to bring clarity to the homeowners who feel they are being pushed out.
Sean Leathong has the story from Burlington’s beach community.
It’s been a long fight for residents who fear closing their homes, but Wednesday, Regional Council voted in favour of a plan that would buy these houses – when the sellers are ready. Despite the assurance that they won’t be expropriated form their homes, one resident I spoke with isn’t happy.
It’s a community of just 30 homes. And thought the land is beautiful, those who live here say they are living under a cloud.
