(Update)
Police are still on the scene at a Hamilton mountain home, investigating the circumstances related to a death over the weekend.

Very little has been confirmed about this incident so far but here’s what we do know. The incident began at the corner of Golden Orchard Drive and Galloway Court about 24 hours ago. That when police moved in and began their investigation. But neighbours tell us that it really began over the weekend. On Saturday night, both paramedics and the fire department showed up here at the townhouse. They were here for some time and we’re told that a body was removed from the residence. Police same by later, stayed for awhile, left and then came back in force on Monday. For quite awhile, investigators were in the backyard of the townhome looking at a small structure in the backyard, like a gazebo or a shed. They spent quite a bit of time back there, taking measurements and looking at items in the shed. Then investigators leaft and have come back with more cruisers deployed at the scene over the last 24 hours. Police have not yet called this a homicide. They’re only calling it a suspicious death at this point. But the case has been turned over to the homicide unit with Detective Matt Kavanagh. We have not been able to confirm the names of the people who live there. Neighbours say the residents have been there for quite awhile. They’re very quiet. There’s a father and son living together in the home. And there was a younger woman, a daughter who moved out earlier this year. It’s been just the father and son at this address for the last 6 or 8 months. It’s believed that the older man is the one taken from the scene deceased. The son, in his late 20’s or early 30’s. And there doesn’t seem to be a history of police calls to this address. In conclusion, neighbours are surprised with the activity at this unit and the case has been turned over to the homicide unit.
