McMaster receives $3 million gift

McMaster University is getting a $3 million dollar “gift” from Canadian based engineering giant “Hatch” and it’s founder.

The money will go towards an $8 million centre aimed at fostering experiential learning and collaboration among engineering students.

The centre will be named in honour of Gerald Hatch, a celebrated metallurgist who became a member of the Canadian Science and Engineering Hall of Fame in 2011.

Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2015 with the completion date scheduled for the summer of 2016.
