Habitat for Humanity breaks ground in Hamilton

Habitat for Humanity and Hamilton’s “Women in Law” broke ground today on a home to help out a family of six.
The team’s objective is to build an affordable home for a family from the community.
Hamilton Mayor Bob Bratina attended the groundbreaking.
“This outstanding organization helps families in need of a home and they see that a home is built. The city of Hamilton was able to donate the site, land costs are always a big component, and of course the volunteer labour and the approach that Habitat has will help the Azina family, a family of six, some with disabilities, to have an accessible new home to live in. It’s a very exciting and positive day for the city,” he said.
Habitat for Humanity is building the project in partnership with Hamilton’s “Women in Law.”
The group is made up of male and female police officers, civilian staff, auxiliary and by-law officers, as well as lawyers and crown attorneys.
This is the group’s first project in Hamilton.
