Canusa Games preview

The Canusa Games get underway in just over a week.

The annual Olympic-like competition between Hamilton and Flint, Michigan sees about 1,200 athletes compete in 17 different sports. Hamilton City Councillor Terry Whitehead was at a media conference Wednesday and says he hopes this year’s athletes build on last year’s successes.

“We look forward to a great kickoff for the games. We’re looking for great success. And we’re just so proud of the volunteers that make this possible.”

One notable part of Canusa is an annual 400 kilometre marathon between Flint and Hamilton. It’s one of the longest runs in North America.
