The passing of Alex Colville

Canada lost one of it’s most respected and truly iconic artists late Tuesday.

Alex Colville died in his home in Wolfville, Nova Scotia at the age of 92. Colville’s art was uncomplicated, but often perplexing, while meticulously executed.

One of the most famous works of his long and storied career was purchased by the Art Gallery of Hamilton 55 years ago. Scot Urquhart had a chance to admire it, earlier on Wednesday.
