Pools extend hours because of heat alert

Many swimming pools across the GTA will extend their hours when temperatures have reached a “Heat Warning Stage 2”

In Hamilton, the following pools will be open until 8pm:

• Ancaster Lions Outdoor Pool, 263 Jerseyville Rd. West
• Birge Pool, Birge St. and Cheever St.
• Chedoke Pool, West 25th St. and Bendamere Ave.
• Green Acres Pool, 50 Randall Ave., Stoney Creek
• Parkdale (Pat Quinn) Arena and Pool, 1770 Main St. East, Hamilton
• Rosedale Arena and Pool, 100 Greenhill Ave.
• Walker Pool, Stone Church Rd. East and DiCenzo Dr.

In Burlington:

• Mountainside pool will be open until 8pm
• Nelson Pool hours extended to 8:30pm

In Toronto, 8 pools will be open until 11:45 p.m. this evening, including:

• Alex Duff Memorial Outdoor Pool, 779 Crawford Ave.
• Alexandra Park Outdoor Pool, 275 Bathurst St.
•  Cummer Park Indoor Pool, 6000 Leslie St.
•  Giovanni Caboto Outdoor Pool, 1369 St. Clair Ave. W.
• McGregor Park Outdoor Pool, 2231 Lawrence Ave. E.
• Monarch Park Outdoor Pool, 115 Felstead Ave.
• Smithfield Outdoor Pool, 175 Mount Olive Dr.
• Sunnyside-Gus Ryder Outdoor Pool, 1755 Lake Shore Blvd. W.
