Heat alerts and warnings issued today

Toronto is now under an extreme heat alert, and most of the rest of southern Ontario remains under a heat advisory.

Temperatures feel like the low 40’s with the humidity. Excessive heat alerts were issued in Niagara and Halton as well. Hamilton’s medical officer of health has called a stage two heat warning that is expected to remain in effect for the next couple of days, or upgraded if temperatures rise.

Public health officials are telling us to limit outdoor activities, drink plenty of water, and take cold baths, showers, or swim to keep cool.
