GO Transit is expanding its “Quiet Zone” to all of its rush-hour trains, after positive feedback from passengers on the Barrie line.

In the Barrie pilot project, riders on the top level of every coach were asked to keep their electronics muted and conversations to a minimum. GO says the program is so popular, the “quiet zone” will expand to all rush-hour routes next Monday.

Rush hour covers all trains arriving at or leaving union station before 9:30 a-m, and all trains departing or arriving at union between 3 and 7:30 pm Monday to Friday.
