Burlington house fire

One person was taken to hospital Thursday night from a house fire in north Burlington.

Smoke could be seen coming from a home on Britannia Road, west of Guelph Line around 8:30. Crews from Hamilton, Milton and Burlington were called to the scene to get the flames under control. Fire officials say the blaze started in a bedroom, possibly because of an electrical issue. The woman taken from the home was suffering from smoke inhalation. Damage is estimated at $100,000.
