Fired city of Hamilton worker files grievance

The former city of Hamilton employee fired for allegedly stealing more than a million dollars has filed a grievance through his union over his firing.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees says Mike Hawrylyshyn has filed the grievance, which is usually an automatic action by union members to make sure the labour code is being followed.
The city, Hamilton Police, and a forensic accountant are investigating how more than a million dollars in fees collected by the city’s finance department went missing over several years.
And as Melissa Raftis tells us, Hawrylyshyn’s neighbours are shocked by the accusations.
