Fonthill home invasion leads to drug charges for owner

Two masked men burst into a home on Canboro Road in Fonthill last night and attacked the homeowner with a machete before his two dogs chased them off.

Niagara Police arrested the pair minutes later in Welland. Justin Cyopeck, 18, and Kenneth Moorehead, 22, are facing break and enter and assault charges.

When police searched the Fonthill house they found a marijuana grow op and a sawed off shotgun. The homeowner, Jayson Lostracco, 31, is facing drug trafficking and prohibited weapons charges.

Police believe the two intruders were there to steal the drugs.
